Where to Park

Our church has a small parking lot, making parking an adventure. And then there’s the question of which door to enter so that everyone doesn’t turn to stare at you just because they forgot there was a door there. So, here are several pictures and some information that, it is to be hoped, will make visiting us a happier experience.

The overview picture at left shows the doors and the primary Sunday parking.

Sunday Parking & Door:

Our neighbors at Frontier Corporation generously allow us to use their employee parking lot (Parking A) on Sundays. This open-air lot is marked by a “One City Centre” sign.

On Sundays, the small lot behind our church (Parking B) is generally saved for our handicapped, elderly and special needs members, friends and visitors. “Special needs” is defined by the person who decides he or she has them.

Parking is also available across Clinton Ave at free-on-Sunday meters surrounding Washington Square Park (which is at right, just outside the picture), at the Bausch & Lomb parking garage on Court St (diagonal to our church) and along the Court St side of our church (where Door 2 is). There is free on-street Sunday parking along Woodbury Blvd across from the GEVA Theatre parking garage.

All of the doors work; we recommend you enter Door 3…. Door 3 is handicapped accessible.

Weekday/Saturday Parking & Door:

On weekdays and Saturdays, the left half of our small parking lot (Parking B) is rented out, and we cannot use Parking A. The right side of the our small parking lot has some open spaces for our visitors, able-bodied or not. If the spaces are taken, parking is available across Clinton Ave at meters surrounding Washington Square Park, at the Bausch & Lomb parking garage on Court St (diagonally opposite our church), at the Midtown Plaza underground parking garage and at the parking garage on Woodbury Blvd., across from GEVA Theatre ….. The city does not allow weekday parking along the Court St side of our church (where Door 2 is).

On weekdays during church or ministerial office hours, ring the bell at either Door 2 or Door 3.  Someone will come to the door.

For close-ups, we’re going to walk forward, down Court Street toward Door 2…..

As we walk down Court Street with Clinton Avenue behind us, we pass our Court Street entrance, labeled Door 2 in this picture.
This is our second most-used entrance.

There is a doorbell at right to summon someone in case the door is locked.

Door 3 is to the left, just around the corner of the building.

The car, which is at the far left of the picture, is in our tiny church parking lot (Parking B).

Now we’re looking more to the left, at the parking lots …..

Parking A and Parking B …..

From this vantage point, Door 2 is off the picture to the right.

There are three cars parked in our church parking lot (Parking B). These cars are in the spaces rented out Mondays through Saturdays.

The entrance to the Sunday parking lot (Parking A) is down the road just past a RTS bus stop shelter and is marked in the picture with a black arrow, right where the black car is exiting. We can see several cars in this lot.

The Parking A lot is used by Frontier during the week. We cannot park there on weekdays no matter how late we are for a church meeting, even if we see an open parking space.

Go to the One City Centre lot (Parking A) …..

In the picture at right, we’ve gone to the Sunday parking lot (Parking A) and turned to face our church.

Door 3 is at the right end of our building, under the black-glassed overhead walkway, which has nothing to do with our church.

Head for Door 3…. Door 3 is handicapped accessible.

If you cut through our church lot (Parking B) to get to Door 3, beware the guide cable that runs the perimeter of the church lot.

We’re probably supposed to use the sidewalks.
