NEXT SERVICE: February 14: Wisdom from the World’s Religions. Happy Valentine’s Day! This service is the third in our series of services on the Six Sources of inspiration that Unitarian Universalists note as such. The First Universalist choir will perform the third movement from the Sources Cantata titled “All Lifted Hearts”, composed by Jason Shelton. Stay afterwards for a special luncheon hosted by the Board of Trustees!
NEXT DROP-IN DISCUSSION: February 14: World Religion. Can we learn from Islam, Buddhism and other religions outside the Jewish and Christian traditions. Phil Ebersole will facilitate a discussion of the Third Source of Unitarian Universalist tradition, “wisdom from the world’s religions which inspire us in our ethical and spiritual life.” Discussion at 9:15 a.m. only; congregational lunch at 12 noon.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (RE) CLASSES: School-age children are invited to join us upstairs for Religious Education (RE) classes after the Message for all Ages. Nursery care is provided throughout the service.
MUSIC COMMITTEE LUNCHEON: The Music Committee will host a luncheon TODAY immediately following the service. Proceeds will benefit our music program.
NEW ORIENTATION CLASSES STARTING: February 7 (today!) and 21, we will show and discuss Voices of a Liberal Faith, a DVD which explores what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist. DROP-IN DISCUSSION ATTENDEES: On Sunday February 7th and 21st, the discussion AFTER the service will be held on the second floor, room 25 (RE room at end of hall) rather than the usual Adult Lounge. All other times are in the usual place.
PREACHER’S SONS: Discussion will follow the movie about a White gay UU minister and his partner who adopt Black sons, and their journey together through life’s challenges. Tues, Feb 9 at 7 pm in the Clara Barton Lounge. Everyone is welcome.
SEM FOOD INGATHERING is next Sunday. Donations of non-perishable food items, toiletries, and paper goods will be collected to benefit the Food Cupboard at Southeast Ecumenical Ministries.
“LOVE FEAST” ON FEBRUAURY 14: The Board of Trustees is hosting a luncheon immediately following the service. We will be serving some of Bernice Cook’s favorite foods, and plan to celebrate YOUR contributions and also to listen to YOUR concerns.

AUCTION REPORT: Last Sunday’s auction had 55 bidders making 200 separate bids to raise $6005! Plus the lunch money- $291- to make this a record-breaking year!

BACK TO THE FUUTURES is a team that has been charged with gathering information from the congregation regarding governance and multiculturalism at First Universalist. Look for the opportunities (coming shortly) to sign up for Listening Sessions so you can give your input.
RAIHN TRAINING: Tuesday, February 9th at 7 pm: If you would like to volunteer for RAIHN and haven’t yet attended a training session, or if you would like to learn more about the program before volunteering, please attend the session at Summerville Presbyterian Church, 4845 St. Paul Boulevard. This is the last session before our next hosting week, March 7-14.

RELIEF FOR HAITI: The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) and the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA) have launched an effort to collect donations for the Haiti relief effort. Donate by going to the UUSC website (www.uusc.org)
